I love to color, so I brought in some markers, colored pencils, crayons and mandala coloring book sheets for any of my students that cared to color if they finished state testing early, and didn’t want to read their books they brought with them.
It is interesting to watch them, how some very carefully color between the lines, some outline first, then color, and some don’t really care if they stay between the lines at all.
As a child, I used to always outline the lines in a bold color, then color very lightly within the boundaries. I always stayed within the lines. I hated to “scrabble”.
That’s kind of how I live. For the most part, I’m a rule follower. I stay between the lines, the boundaries, the rules. Except for driving cars. I used to always drive fast. And pay the consequences on several occasions. Not so much as I’ve gotten older.
How about you? Do you color between the lines? Does your lifestyle fall between the lines or rules of our society?
We all have a book that keeps us between the lines. It’s called the Bible. God’s word on what our boundaries are on every subject under the sun.
Let’s all express our artistic side however we see fit, but let’s all live our lives within the lines that our heavenly father has drawn for us to live.
And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the Earth having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their habitation Acts 17:26
