April is known for its showers. Yesterday after a shower of snow, came another shower, a baby shower. For my youngest daughter. She is having their firstborn. A son.
The custom is for friends and family to shower her with gifts. Things she’ll need to raise a baby. On this day she will be showered with blessings.
I pray this unborn child will be showered with blessings his whole life through. Blessings of health and love and joy and peace. I pray he will come into this world strong and healthy and grow in innocence. And when it is his time to know both good and bad, he will be able to discern the difference between the two. I pray he will follow the path of righteousness all of his days.
I thank everyone who came out on this cold wintry spring day to shower my daughter with their love and their gifts. From near and far. It meant so much. I thank my other two daughters for opening their home and showering their sister with such beautiful and delectable preparations.
I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing. And I will cause showers to come down in their season. They will be showers of blessing. Ezekiel 34:26
