Job Security

Good morning!

I recently took my father to his dental appointment. This is their front counter.

I had to do a double take. And so might you. Yes, those are Otis Spunkmeyer cookies. A whole jar full of them for their patients. When I asked, “Are those what I think they are?” The reply was, “Job security.”

At its finest!

What a novel idea!

How about you? What in life offers you job security?

We will see these next few days and weeks just how secure my job is. Oklahoma’s present low pay for teachers has left many a vacancy in teaching positions. Thus, my own job security. But hopefully we will see a change.

The ultimate job security belongs to Jesus. We are all sinners. We all need a savior. His job of dying on the cross was a necessity, and always will be.

How sweet it is. Cookies. And the security of eternal life. In Jesus.

Let’s all eat a freshly baked, hot chocolate chip cookie today (if you can get your hands on one). Or two. And think about security.

You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety. Job 11:18

Love and laughter,

Sandy
