It’s here! Spring break. A week of rest and relaxation for some. Travel for others. And time, for me. To catch up on many of the things I don’t have time for on a normal week of working full time.
This is what I saw as I left school for Spring Break. Some of our students had painted the windows overlooking our courtyard.
Signs of new life were everywhere. Baby turtles could be seen basking in the sun. Spring flowers were beginning to bloom.
Easter was on the windows, and just around the corner, a few short weeks away.
I remember when we used to celebrate Easter Vacation. Not Spring Break. They were not two separate occasions. Back when God was allowed in the classroom.
God’s still allowed in my classroom. New life to me is not just the turtles and the tulips at Kendall-Whittier. It’s the hope I have in eternity through my belief in Jesus Christ.
I pray you enjoy your spring break whatever your plans may be. I pray for safety for all. But I pray more so for the new life of spring to permeate every cell of your body to draw you near to the true source of new life. Jesus.
I am thankful for the gift of time this week. I pray you realize the importance of time. Now is the time. To give your heart to Jesus. If you haven’t already. Before your time runs out.
Enjoy your week! Whatever it brings you! I encourage you each to take a moment to savor the newness of life spring break offers us all. But, as you do, look forward to Easter, whether it warrants a vacation or not. Its new life is yours not just for a week, not just for a season, but for eternity! ☉🌷🌱🐢🐣🐇✈🚗🚢🎢🛌⚾⚽⛷🏊🕇
Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, so that as Christ who was raised from the dead through the glory of the father, so we too might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
