I just happen to have 12 students at a time in each of my math classes. You do the math. Can you think of a better way to describe fractions than this? 1/2 1/3 1/4 1/6 1/12 Then there are equivalent fractions 2/4 4/8 6/12. They’re the same thing.

And the pay off for learning? Finally getting it? You get to reap the benefits of your labor. You get to eat it!

I teach poverty kids. They love any edible reward. Thank you Mr. Hershey for your product all divided up perfectly for my class. How sweet it is!

Unfortunately next time they want pizza. To lesrn fractions. But it doesn’t perfectly divides up for a class of 12. And it’s a little more expensive instructional aid.

Let’s all thank our lord for those things around us that we can use to help teach others. Any way that reaches them. Whether in a school, home or workplace.

Thank you Lord for giving each of us our own creativity. And thank you Lord for our children.

As I separate from my students this next week for spring break, be with us all in this time of rest and fun. Maybe as they eat chocolate or pizza they’ll remember Mrs. Carnes and our lessons. Most likely not.

Here’s to chocolate! The best instructional aid there is!
Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; the other half followed Omri. 1kings 16:21

Love and laughter,

Sandy
