Lunar Trifecta 2018

Good morning!

A super moon, a blue moon, and a lunar eclipse all fall on the same day for a sight that has not been seen in more than a century. And that is now!

A lunar eclipse is when the earth moves in between the sun and the moon. For half the planet, the cosmic alignment will turn the moon a coppery color for just over an hour. A blue moon means it is the second full moon to occur in a month. Also it is a supermoon meaning it will be closer to the Earth than usual, but the difference in size is hardly noticeable to our naked eye.

Don’t miss it!

If you are reading this around the time that I post it, you still have time to go see it at 7:51 a.m. EST, 6:51 a.m. our time this morning for your optimum viewing. That puts me on Highway 51, the Broken Arrow Expressway, on my way to work. I’ll be sure and look up. How about you?

Where will you be?

Wherever that may be, enjoy the sight, then let’s all look up and thank God for the wonder and beauty of his creation. The intricate details. His perfect timing of it all. Lunar trifecta! Created by the best trifecta there ever was and ever will be, the father, the son, and the Holy ghost.

Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all stars of light! Psalm 148:3

Love and laughter,

Sandy

  1. Thanks for the lesson – very interesting! I have learned more from you since you started teaching than I can remember learning in elementary school! Hugs, Aunt Barb
