Gazinta

Good morning!

I’m now teaching 4th grade math. And with that I’ve had to brush up on my Gazintas.

You know. Multiplication and division. Nine gazinta eighty-one nine times.  81÷9=9 There’s a whole slew of them. We’ll be concentrating on the 0-12 facts.

Jethro Bodine best coined that term on the episode, Jethro goes to school, on the Beverly Hillbillies.

It’s been a few years since I learned my gazintas, multiplication and division, that is.  Now I’m teaching them.

Gazintas. Division. I may not have practiced my multiplication facts every day in a long time, but I have seen the results of division. Daily. On our world. Families being divided. Marriages being divided. Countries being divided.

Just look at our current state of affairs over our country’s president. We’re a country divided.

It doesn’t take a mathematician to figure out the effects of division. No matter how you divide it, you are most likely going to end up with less. (Except 0 and 1).

Let’s stop dividing. Let’s multiply. Let’s unite. As a people.

God’s word tells us the outcome. Why don’t we see that and stop? Stop the division.  Work together. Just like my students as they practice their math facts.

I don’t know about you, but I’d rather stand than fall any day. Want to join me?

Every kingdom divided against itself is btought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.                                              Matthew 12:25

Love and laughter,

Sandy
