Stressed

Good morning!

Yesterday morning I was stressed. This transition from teaching students with intellectual disabilities to becoming a special education fourth grade resource teacher for reading and math at semester has got me stressed. The IEPs, the calling of new students’ families to introduce myself, the planning a new schedule, the going on with life as normal until the last day with my current class, the learning new curriculum, and the move, has got me stressed.

Yesterday I walked into school to an email that said come by the conference room on your planning period.

Lucky me, that’s my first hour. I walked straight in at 7:30 to find a conference table full of desserts and a hot chocolate bar that included everything you could possibly want!

I tasted, and it was good.

My s-t-r-e-s-s-e-d turned backwards to d-e-s-s-e-r-t-s! My anxiety melted just as fast as the chocolate on my plastic spoon that I stirred into my hot chocolate.

Our principal, our site administrator manager, and our front office guru allcame  disguised as either Santa’s elves or God’s angels, I choose the latter, yesterday. They made the entire spread for our entire staff, and kept it full all day long. So I heard. I only checked back at the end of the day to drop off a thank you card.

We are the largest elementary school in TPS. We’ve got 1,000 kids. That’s a lot of staff to feed sweet treats. That’s a lot of chocolate chips and marshmallows to go around!

Thank you to these fine ladies for their labor of love! it was certainly appreciated by Mrs. Carnes. it was just the Christmas gift I needed. It made me feel as warm and loved as my cup of hot chocolate!

I’d do anything for these ladies and men. The men just didn’t make me desserts.

The next time you’re stressed, why not take a moment and breathe, and fix yourself a big, hot, steamy mug of hot . It works wonders, especially at this time of year!

Thank you, ladies, from the bottom of my heart. You’ve warmed my heart all semester with your kindness and support, and now you warmed my insides with your steaming cup of hot chocolate and plate full of sweet treats! I couldn’t have chosen a better team!  Go Kendall-Whittier!

My son, eat honey, for it is good, and rhe drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste.                    Proverbs 24:13

 Love and laughter,

 Sandy
