It’s fall, y”all!
I love fall! It’s my favorite season! The feel of the cool, brisk temperatues dropping. The smell of fireplaces or chimneas burning. The sight of the brightly colored leaves falling. The sound of crowds cheering their favorite football teams to victory. The taste of pumpkin everything.
Just this past week I noticed the change. It happened ao fast. One day trees were green, the next they changed color, and now the leaves are falling.
I pass by this tree every day on my journey to work. Just this past week I was blessed with this beautiful sight.
What’s your favorite season? What’s your favorite fall treat to your senses?
We’ve been learning about why leaves change color in our classroom this week. We went outside and gathered leaves. We graphed them by our favorite colors. We experimented by crunching up green leaves and adding alcohol and smashing them to release the chorophyllast to see what color they would change to in the fall. We read books and watched videos on leaves in fall. And we researched and colored a map of the United States the dominant leaf colors of fall.
My advice to you is to enjoy the season that God has placed before you. Enjoy each of them. Life has its patterns. They come and go. So does man. Even the birds in the sky know when its their season to head south for warmth and food.
Let’s all be observant. Of not only those changing Seasons that God has put before us, but also of the ordinances that God has placed before us to follow as his people. Let’s respect the land, but most of all, let’s pay respect to our Lord. The creator of all.
Even the stork in the sky knows her Seasons, and the turtle dove and the Swift and the the rush observe the time of their migration, but my people do not know the ordinance of the Lord. Jeremiah 8:7
