Mandy

Good morning!

We all know and love the Barry Manilow hit, Mandy.

In our classroom Miss Mary and I work so well together you might as well call us Mandy…Mary and Sandy. The perfect blend.

One of our students checked out a book last Friday at the library called Flat Stanley and The Haunted House. I read it to our class aloud. It brought back many memories of Flat Stanley. Each of my daughters had made a Flat Stanley during their school years, and we carted him around on many an adventure. We sent him on planes to foreign places to family and friends to join in on the fun.

It was then and there that I decided that Stanley needed to come to room 309. So rather than keep it to the generic paper doll, I gave each of my students a gender correct Flat Stanley of their own to color. Miss Mary and I were certainly not about to miss out on the fun, so we each made one too!

Each of us will document and share with the class the many adventures our Stanleys will embark upon this school year. Our writing, our story telling, our knowledge of different people and places will all be enhanced this year thanks to our Stanleys.

How about you? Has flat Stanley crossed your path? If so, cherish those memories! If not, holler, I’ll gladly send mine your way for a visit!

Flat Stanley aside, together, “Mandy” work as one to guide our students in learning each school day. We’re a team. After all, we all know it takes a village to raise a child. We’re just one small part of the puzzle.

I can’t wait to see where our flat “Stanleys” adventures take our class this year! Let the journey begin!

Happy 60th birthday today Miss Mary! I love you! ❤ Thanks for all you do!

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.                    Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Love and laughter,
