This is our classroom window looking out onto the playground. So fun for October!👻🍊🐱
Our class visited the G.R.O.W. garden last week. We saw and felt inside a pumpkin this week, counting all its seeds. We just finished planting our pumpkin seeds and four other kinds of seeds in each finger of our gloves to form a “garden in a glove”. We placed a moistened cotton ball in each finger with a few seeds for sprouting. Next we blew them up, and tied them tightly to shut in the oxygen. Then we hung them from the window in the sunshine for growth. And an eerie bonus for those playing outdoors at recess!
We can’t wait to see if any of our seeds sprout! In the meantime, it makes for a pretty cool Halloween window decoration!
I encourage each of you to take a walk on the wild side. To do something outside of your box this holiday season. Carve a pumpkin. Roast some pumpkin seeds. Plant a garden. In a glove! Decorate your windows for Halloween. Take part volunteering in a Trunk or Treat at your school or community. Dress up and go to a Halloween party! Enjoy the season!
Christians can celebrate this time of year, too! We just don’t have to climb on broomsticks or join the living dead to do so. We can help others less fortunate. Teach them to garden. Teach them they have community support.
Let’s be the change we wish to see. By offering a hand. Today an outreached hand in a glove will make more impact than a simple handout.
Build houses and live in them, and plant gardens and eat their produce. Jeremiah 29 5
