This week we made apple volcanoes during science. Apples are abundant in fall.
We cored an apple, filled it half full with baking soda, then poured vinegar on its top. We then observed the chemical reaction. It foamed, and bubbled, and spewed over the top just like a volcano!
When you combine vinegar with baking soda, it creates a volatile reaction.
Do you know anything else that when combined becomes volatile?
If you ask me, I’d say our lives combined with a lifestyle without Christ. That would be volatile.
Tense, strained, uneasy, uncomfortable, and turbulent. That’s what volatile means. And that’s what my life looks like when I live it without following God’s direction.
Just like an apple, let’s all seek our own core. Let’s find our inner peace. And joy. And love. When things get volatile, let’s search within and calm. Be still and know I am God rather than erupt like a volcano.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
And you came near, and stood under the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the middle of heaven with datkness, clouds, and thick darkness. Deuteronomy 4:11
