I was driving home from school yesterday down 15th Street where there are several thrift, secondhand, and antique type of stores. One of them had a sign in their window that said Repurposed and Unique. I had to chuckle. Those words were the perfect description of me!
After years of trying different jobs, I finally found my niche. Just like an old chair,
God has repurposed me into a special education teacher. I’m also very unique. Not many my age are beginning a new career such as this, but that’s okay. That’s how God made me. Each of us are unique. No two are alike. We each have our own purpose. Or repurpose. 😉
I encourage you to think about it. How is God repurposing you these days? Is He pointing you to your calling rather than your paycheck?
Just like the saying, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, that’s kind of how we are. About the time that we feel broken, unlovable, worthless, God steps in and dusts us off and repurposes us into a new environment to help us thrive.
This time it’s not about what serves me best. It’s about what serves others best.
Let’s all think the next time we’re about to throw away that old chair, with a little love, a little care, you just might be able to repurpose it into a beautiful masterpiece!
So do not fear for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Love and laughter,
