Last night was Preview Night at Kendall-Whittier. Back to School night. Meet the Teacher night. Whatever you want to call it, there were students and parents and grandparents filling the halls from 6 to 8.
I met three of mine. ❤
As I’ve mentioned in a prior blog, Monday is the first day of school, and it is also a Total Solar Eclipse, occuring while our students are with us at school.
It will not be safe to look at the sun, so we will not be allowing recess during that time, but any brave souls who want to experience the event supervised with their special safety glasses on may do so.
I’m all in! So is Denise, my buddy teacher, and Mary, our para (my two new BFFs for this year). We are planning to witness this historical, scientific event live with the students in both our classrooms.
So this is my door that welcomed my students for Preview night and will again for the first day of school!
And shades we will wear! Special safety ones to view the eclipse, and each child will go home the first day with another pair of sunglasses, their very own pair of “shades” reminding them of just how bright their future’s truly are!
This door is just a preview of what my students have in store for them. It opens up to a world full of wonder, a world full of learning, and a world full of exploration. Starting with a total solar eclipse of the sun.
Let’s all shine brightly. Let’s brighten up wherever we go. Let’s bring light, not datkness to a hurting world. Let’s let the light of Jesus shine through for all to see! Be careful, you might just need to put on your shades when you look at room 309! 😎
Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3
Love and laughter,
