Dumpster Dining

Good morning!

If you enjoyed my blog entitled Dumpster. You’ll love it’s sequel, Dumpster Dining. Not to be confused with Dumpster Diving.

Sunday night was sporty weather for this time of year. It was below 90 degrees, and we had a delightful breeze! You would have thought we were in California if it weren’t for the Oklahoma humidity (which felt remarkably lower than normal this particular evening).

We were grilling out for dinner, shrimp, veggies, loaded baked potatoes, spinach and strawberry salad, and wine. It was so nice out we decided to stay out and dine outdoors.

We had a delicious dinner, Pandora light dinner music on an old crooners’ station, an intimate table for two, great company, and a nice bottle of wine. All the ingredients you could ask for for a romantic dinner for two.

Except for one slight drawback. We had a dumpster in the background. Now my back was to it, so I barely knew it was there. But it was in direct focal view for my darling dinner date, my husband. It was the elephant in the room metaphorically speaking.

It did not bother us! We did not speak of it. Well, maybe we laughed about it in the beginning, but it did not steal our joy on this delightful evening, our one month anniversary. That’s one of the things I love the most about that man, he always sees the best in everything!

How about you? Can you make the most out of every situation? Do you see the good in others? Or are you blinded by the dumpsters, the flaws in life, the elephants in the room, whatever they may be?

Let’s all learn to turn our lemons into lemonade, our dumpster dining into first class experiences. To make the most out of every opportunity. Trust me,  you’ll enjoy life so much more if you do!

Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.                                     Ephesians 5:16-17

 Love and laughter,

Sandy
