As you know, I just got married a week ago. We each chose to wear a band of gold. Mine is white. His is yellow.
Gold is precious. Today’s going rate in U.S. dollars is $1,214.70 per ounce.
The gold band wedding ring is also precious. Not just for its metal. It is indeed often made of the purest metal, thus symbolizing the purest love that a marriage should hold. But it also is infinite. With no beginning and no end. Just like the love in a marriage should be.
We all need to value our marriages. And our spouses. They, too, are precious. Just like those tiny bands of gold that we wear to symbolize them. Love them and cherish them ’til death do you part.
Let’s all also love and cherish our God who made us and who made marriage with such passion. Let’s live our lives so that when He is through with us, we too, can come forth as the precious metal, gold, in His eyes.
How about you?
Are you as precious as gold to your God? Your spouse? If not, it’s never too late to change that. Remember the symbolism that tiny band of gold holds, and make your God, your marriage, and your spouse precious to you today!
But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10
Love and laughter,
