Today is the Fourth of July. Independence Day. The day we wear red, white, and blue. The day we fly Old Glory. The day we commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence some 241 years ago. And the day we shoot off fireworks.
Whether on the water, at home, or wherever you choose to hang by yourself or with family and friends, may you have a safe and enjoyable Fourth!
Do something American. Eat a hot dog. Make some homemade ice cream. Write your name in the air with a sparkler.
And while you’re enjoying your Fourth, don’t forget what you’re really celebrating. Take a minute and thank God for freedom. For freedom isn’t really free. Someone paid a price for it. Jesus. And thank those that went before you to make it the land of the free and the home of the brave. Our armed forces.
Happy birthday U.S.A.! We love you! And may God truly bless America!
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humby in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself. Galatians 5:13-14
Love and laughter,
