Surgery

Good morning!

A dear friend of mine had hip surgery yesterday. Another dear friend’s husband had knee surgery very recently. For me, it was eye surgeries.

We’ve reached that age. Either ourselves or our parents. Where these old bodies are just wearing out. From the years of wear and tear we’ve put them through.

Modern technology offers us numerous options to repair and replace that which is no longer functioning as designed in our bodies. For some it’s mere meds. For other’s  a pair of reading glasses. For others still it’s surgery. Often involving artificial or transplanted body parts. The options are endless.

No matter how we look at it, we still only get one body. And with it, one chance at this life we live. Let’s take care of it. And if it needs repair, just like our cars, let’s fix it.

We can start first with the one who created our bodies. With prayer. And we can supplement that with the skill of the physician or the surgeon if necessary.

Today I send out prayers to all of you out there who are or know someone who might be suffering or recovering from a health issue. Here’s to doctors. Here’s to surgeons. Here’s to all my nurse friends who I love dearly. Thank you for all that you do!

But let’s all always remember, our God is the great healer.

But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord, Jeremiah 30:17

Love and laughter,

Sandy
