How many of you have ever lost your remote? Misplaced where you last left it?
Then spent hours searching for it. Never once thinking about getting up and turning on or off your TV manually, by hand. Or how many of you don’t even know how to manually change your channels without your remote? I’m guilty!
There are certain creature features we find in life so useful that we will search for hours to find them. They matter to us.
That’s how it is with God. He will search endlessly when any of His beloved go astray. We matter to Him.
And just like the remote who usually is hiding among the couch cushions, we, too, are usually not far away. From God. We’ve usually only drifted. Briefly slipped between those cushions. Fallen between the cracks. Been lured away from where we should be by some desire of the flesh.
Here’s my morning blessing for you. May your remote remain within hand’s reach and your hand not reach for things remote. And never forget, God will always search and rejoice when found for each of His lost.
he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. Matthew 18:13
