This was this morning’s breakfast.
It included fruit. And egg. And dairy. All the essential breakfast ingredients. And it was delicious!
But what was wrong with this picture?
It was dessert!
We had eaten Key Lime Pie for dessert Sunday evening, and I just couldn’t bare to throw the remainder away. So I decided to dispose of it all right. One piece at a time. Starting for breakfast. This morning. With my morning cup of coffee. And I have to admit, I felt a little guilty.
Who says you can’t live a little? Eat your dessert first? Have pie for breakfast?
I don’t believe there is actually a scripture condemning it, but our bodies are a temple. They belong to God. What we put into them and what we allow to come out of them should be a reflection of just that.
Anyone that knows me knows I love sweets! I’m usually soup and salad and tacos otherwise.
How about you? Do you treat your body as the temple it was created to be?
Let’s all make sure that what we put into our bodies is done in moderation. And what comes out of our mouths as well. Let’s make it edifying and done for the glory of God.
Here’s to the sweet things that life has to offer us. Like key lime pie. But more so, the sweet love of Jesus for each of us offered unconditionally. That lives within us. In our temples.
It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one’s own glory. Proverbs 25:27
