I came in to work yesterday morning, my first day back at the hospital working full time for the summer to find this.
My first apple for the teacher.❤🍎 And my very own YETI. In seafoam green. So I can escape to the beach in my mind. And I can drink HOT coffee while I’m there, hazelnut, my favorite.
It was dropped off for me last week by a friend who was visiting their mother in the hospital.
I would guess this friend’s love language to be giving gifts. What a most thoughtful gift! And unexpected at that. Thank you!
What is your love language? How do you express your love and admiration to others? Is it through words of affirmation, complimenting others, through quality time, offering your undivided attention, through receiving gifts, through acts of service, serving others with no ulterior motives in sight, or by physical touch?
As you could probably guess, words of affirmation come most naturally to me. I’m a words girl. And serving others follows close behind.
It all boils down to this. We all like to be valued. Loved. However you choose to acknowledge and engage with others, remember this. It’s a simple rule. The Golden Rule. Treat people like you would like to be treated yourself.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to fill my cup. My seafoam green YETI cup with HOT, hazelnut coffee and start my day in the PICU serving others. Children. It’s what we do there! 😊
Do to others as you would have them do to you. Luke 6:31
Love and laughter,
