Good morning!

Yesterday was a warm, sunny day. I watched him put on a new baseball cap to block the sun. The price tag was still hanging from it when placed upon his head. I told him he looked like Minnie Pearl.

Many of you have no idea who Minnie Pearl even is. She was an American country comedian that appeared on Grand Ole Opry and Hee Haw for over 50 years. She was known for a $1.98 price tag hanging from her hat. She forgot to remove the tag from some dime store flowers she put on her hat one day, and it showed up in one of her shows. The audience loved it so much she made it a part of her routine. She later recognized it as symbolic of human frailty. There she was standing in her best dress thanking her fans for the opportunity to be there before them with her $1.98 price tag hanging out!

Human frailty is defined as a general proneness to yield to temptation. What symbolizes human frailty to you?

For me, it’s seen in my relationships. I’ve failed more than a time or two. I often feel as if I walk around wearing a price tag for the whole world to see with a value of $1.98. That I’m not worth much more than that. Certainly not worth much at all to those that have tossed me aside for other loves. Sometimes other people, sometimes money, sometimes simply themselves. But I am worthy to God! And so are you! We’re priceless! And that is what truly is important! Every life has equal value in God’s eyes.

So let’s all get out our scissors and cut off our $1.98 price tags that weigh us down. Let’s instead wear our true value inside on our hearts where it belongs. And always remember, there’s no value man can place on our lives, to God we are priceless!

You are priceless to me. I love you and honor you.                                         Isaiah 43:4

Love and laughter,
