Plan B

Good morning!

I woke up Easter morning to the sounds of thunder. Followed shortly after by rain. I guess I had failed to check the daily weather forecast.

I had originally planned to grill burgers outdoors and have an outdoor Easter egg hunt in the backyard for the family Easter festivities. We were convening at 11:30.
Time for plan B.

A meal prepared and eaten indoors followed by an indoor Easter egg hunt.

A quick trip to the neighborhood grocery and TA DA!  Lasagna and salad and bread were now the menu of choice. And don’t forget the banana pudding saved from Plan A.

How many times have you had to revert to plan B in life?

It’s my life story! šŸ™‚

I’m living my plan B. This is not how I ever would have expected or planned for my life to have turned out. Divorced, living with my 87 year old father, barely getting by financially, and starting a new career at 57.

But what my plan B brings me is the opportunity of seeing each and every day where God is taking me. His mercies never cease.:)

Each day unfolds a new adventure.  Some so surreal that you cannot help but see God’s fingerprint right smack in the middle of them. Others so challenging that you’d want to throw in the towel if you didn’t know God’s fingerprint was still right smack in the middle of them. It’s just unclear to see on those particular days. For the rain. Sometimes we just can’t see the forest for the trees.

I encourage each of you to have a plan. Live with a purpose. But always remember God has a bigger plan. Prayerfully put the two in sync. And we all still need those backup plans in life for a rainy day. Our plan Bs. When things don’t go as planned. Sometimes those are the best days for they usually carry no expectations.

And no matter how challenging today might be, tomorrow’s always a new day. With new mercies from God. Embrace them.

And if it does rain, never forget, you can always go put on your boots and be like my dog and find every puddle to play in. šŸ™‚

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.                       Lamentations 3:22-23

Love and laughter,

Sandy
