I grew up in a time where we watched The Wonderful World Of Disney on our television set each Sunday evening. As a family. Walt Disney was always one of my favorite visionaries. He made everything magical. Every Sunday evening we were told by his character Jiminy Cricket when you wish upon a star your dreams come true.
I was a little girl with big dreams. I wanted to not just ride but jump horses like in the 1968 Disney movie, The Horse In The Gray Flannel Suit.
My childhood dream came true! I got my horses. And one gray one just like in my favorite childhood movie. And jump them I did. All because of a dream.
If you listened to Donald Trump’s inauguration speech you no doubt heard his take on dreams. Dreams for America. “We must think big and dream even bigger.”
I love C. S. Lewis’s quote. You are never too old to dream a new dream. Trump is 70. His dream of being president has finally come to fruition. If he can do it, so can I! I’m 57. I’m currently working on getting my alternative teaching certification. That’s my dream. Then next will be renovating my family home. And my last dream is to go to Italy with the man I love.
I’m thinking big and dreaming even bigger! How about you?
What dreams do you have tucked away for safekeeping?
Did you know that Walt Disney was right when he said, “if you can dream it, you can do it”? For nothing is impossible with God. We can do anything we set our minds to through Christ who strengthens us.
Let’s all keep dreaming. Sweet dreams. Dreams that grow us.Better us. And those around us. Let’s all spend the next four years thinking big and dreaming even bigger! For ourselves. Our fellow mankind. Our country. But most of all, for our God.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
