Roll With It

Good morning!

Last night I received a gift. An unexpected gift. The best gift ever! The gift of friendship. ♡ I was blessed with meeting my college roommate for dinner.

You see, she lives in Dallas. I live in Tulsa. She was in town briefly to settle some affairs of her dearly departed mother’s estate.

And I was in Taco Bueno’s drive thru. When she called.  It was Taco Tuesday. I was just about to order two taco platters for my youngest daughter and me when I answered her call. She asked me what I was doing, and I told her. “Stop!” she said! So instead of ordering the two taco platters as planned, I ordered just one. Then dropped it off for my daughter, and met my very best girlfriend at In The Raw.

Sometimes in life you just have to roll with it. And roll I did. Volcano Roll to be specific. 🙂

It was a spur of the moment event. Sometimes the best kind! 🙂 I’m a firm believer in flexibility.  Change.  Roll with it. Always have a plan B. Some of life’s best moments are plan Bs! ♡

We had a most delightful time! A night of the unexpected. An unexpected phone call. Led to an unexpected dinner. On an unexpected, extremely warm for the season, kind of evening.  We sat outdoors on their patio which overlooks Tulsa’s skyline.  With a heater of course! Magnificent!

We caught up on life’s events since we last saw each other a few months prior. Over a glass of wine, an ITR salad, and some sushi.

We originally met as sorority pledge sisters 40 years ago in August. Alpha Chi Omega.  Oklahoma State University.  We share a lifetime of memories.  Old. And new. For last night we made new ones. Instead of classes and boyfriends and upcoming parties our conversations have switched to jobs and husbands (and still boyfriends for some of us) and grandchildren. And remedies to battle the aging process. LoL! It doesn’t get much better than that.

As I drove away, I thought about all the memories.  And smiled.  I love that girl! Like no other. She knows me better than any. My flaws, my mistakes,  my shortcomings,  yet she still loves me. That’s true unconditional agape love. God’s love. ♡

Our bodies may be aging, but we’re finally getting it. On the inside. God’s plan. I encourage each of you to roll with it in life. Never regret a missed opportunity God has waiting for you. If you’ll just step off the beaten path and on to His. There are many more plan Bs out there to be had. And they’re all a part of His plan.  The master plan.

May you enjoy your plan Bs in life,  wherever they may take you, as much as I’m enjoying mine! ♡

I love you Brenda! ♡ Thank you for dinner! Thank you for doing life with me. Sisters in the bond. Of Alpha Chi Omega. Forever. But through God’s creation for eternity.  ♡.

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.               Corinthians 4:16-18

Love and laughter,

Sandy
