Christmas as we celebrate it is now over. The presents are all unwrapped from beneath the tree. The unusually warm weather came in perfect timing for taking down the Christmas lights from the rooftops and bushes. The live Christmas trees will be drug to the curb for trash day pick up. This week will bring all the decorations being packed away until the holidays once again return next year. Shoppers this time are enroute for the great deals to save for next year’s Christmas. Or the returns from this year’s presents. Presents that were not the perfect fit.
We are left now to enjoy our gifts. Our presents. But why not also enjoy the presence? The presence of the season. Let it linger. The love. The joy. The presence of others. Truly engage with them. Spend some quality time not just quantity time with family and friends.
Now is the time when we can slow down, get alone, and enjoy His presence. The presence of the one who brought us the ultimate gift. The best present of all. Our Savior. In our hearts, our souls, and our homes, let’s be present in His presence.
A new year is coming. It’s just around the bend. It offers us a time to renew. What better time to bask in God’s presence? To reflect on our old ways and plan for the new ones that offer the pleasures God holds dear for us.
Let’s all enjoy every gift. Every one of our presents. But let’s remember the best gift of all is your presence. ♡
I thank each one of you for your presence. In my life. Your crossing the path of my life has made me who I am today. And for that I’m grateful. ♡
You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11
