That’s Oklahoma weather. Cold today, hot tamale!
This was my Christmas stash this year. On the last day of school. Gifts from our students. ♡ This doesn’t include gifts from my family and friends. If you notice in the bottom right corner, I even got homemade hot tamales! They were literally so fresh, they were still hot! Now that’s a woman after my own heart! I do love mexican food! ♡
Thank you to all! For your generous gifts. ♡ You each hold a special place in my heart.
As I look back on my Christmas this year, my thoughts drift to just how blessed I truly am! I have students and their families that are so thoughtful to come bearing me gifts. There were sweet treats and tamales and candles and wall decor and lotions and socks and mugs and ornaments and a blanket and gift cards galore! I even had past students who came bearing gifts! I especially adore those items handmade with love.♡ Like my cross. And my tamales.
A tamale is a Mexican dish of seasoned meat wrapped in cornmeal dough and steamed or baked in corn husks.
I kind of feel like a tamale. Definitely well seasoned over the years with a little kick of spicy All wrapped in love. The love of my students, my family, my friends, and the love of my God. The God who gave me the ultimate gift of all for Christmas. His son. All wrapped in love. For you and for me.♡
As you reflect on your own Christmas season, may you too feel wrapped in the love of Jesus. The baby that came to change the world. Wrapped in swaddling cloths.
Whatever your plans may include for the remainder of this winter break, I encourage us all to stay focused on the one that’s got it all under wraps. The one that has each of us wrapped in His eternal love. The one that came as the best Christmas gift there ever was and ever will be! May you continue to unwrap that love every day anew! And give it away. Like the hot tamales.
And never forget, we’re in Oklahoma! The weather’s always changing. Stay wrapped up when you need to. Unwrap when you don’t. It may be cold today, but you never know, it may be hot tamale!
And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. Luke 2:12
Love and laughter,
