Oil Change

Good morning!

Yesterday I had my oil changed. It’s one of those things I’ve had to start doing for myself since I’ve been single. I don’t actually change it myself. I just have to remember to have it changed. Regularly. To me that was always a guy thing. Dad did it for me. Husbands did it for me.

Now I mystery shop. For Jiffy Lube. So I get it done for free. And get to take home an extra ten bucks. You can’t beat that deal. For the budget minded. 🙂

Yestersay I enjoyed a bag of popcorn and a can of diet Dr Pepper while I waited and read a most interesting article in Entrepreneur Magazine about Chip and Joanna Gaines from the Fixer Upper television series. And I got a free car wash coupon for down the street to boot. Who doesn’t love a deal like that?! ♡

We all need to keep our cars in working order. Well maintenanced. So they run properly. That’s why I regularly get my oil changed.  The same holds true for our own bodies. Unlike our vehicles, we only get one of them. Physically it is important what we put into them. What we eat and drink and making sure we get some type of exercise. Spiritually it is even more important. How we keep our heart and soul in their prime operating condition.

Less sin more love and forgiveness. It’s a pretty simple exercise regime. But it does take some effort. Daily. Not just every so many miles.

Let’s all keep everything we own in tip top condition.  That includes our own physical beings. We are called to glorify God in our body. And our souls.

I have a fresh new sticker on my car windshield stating my auto is in tip top shape. I’d like God to place one on my heart stating my soul is too! 🙂 How about you?

19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.                                             1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Love and laughter,
