Yesterday was the day. The majority of Oklahomans most likely would not be found at the malls Christmas shopping, but instead could be found either in Norman or in front of a television somewhere watching the state rivalry game, Bedlam 2016. The battle for the Big 12 title. Between No. 9 University of Oklahoma’s Sooners and No. 10 Oklahoma State University’s Cowboys.
I’m a pistol firing, orange bleeding, OSU grad so I wore orange to school yesterday as we donned our favorite Bedlam team attire. Just like these two lost in a sea of crimson in Norman. 🙂 In case you happened to be in a coma or something similar and missed the game, OU won 38-20. Boomer Sooner!
That’s okay with me.:) I’ve paid my share of college tuition there. For my daughters. I’ve lived in a house divided. In more ways than one. 🙂
No matter who you were cheering for, the game offered some pretty great Saturday afternoon entertainment for an otherwise rainy day. It offered an excellent opportunity for friends and family to join together in some good clean fun and let rivals collide on and off the field. Then go away friends.
We will all most likely battle something at some time or another in our lifetime. Be forced to choose sides. Stand for something.
The battle of all battles already has been won. I hope you have chosen your side. I know I have. Its the winning side. It’s not the Cowboys. Or the Sooners. In case you didn’t get the memo, Jesus wins. The final battle. Satan loses. Big time.
We’re not talking the Big 12 championship here. We’re talking life. And death. Let’s all stay out of the fire. Let’s choose life. Eternal life. With Jesus. It’s the winning way to go.
10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Revelation 20:10
Love and laughter,
