A Shot Of B-12

Good morning!

Monday morning I had a physical.  They come to us at Jenks West Elementary.  As part of the services offered, you could get a B-12 injection. For $15! Cash or credit. Boom! I was in! ๐Ÿ™‚

Who wouldn’t want a shot of energy to put a little pep in their step? ๐Ÿ™‚  After all, in addition to my full time day job at Jenks West, I work Thursday nights at The Children’s Hospital and miss out on a full night’s rest each week.

Why B-12 you may ask?                               Cyanocobalamin is a man-made form of vitamin B-12 that is used to treat low levels or deficiencies of this vitamin. Vitamin B-12 helps your body use fat and carbohydrates for energy and make new protein. It is also important for normal blood, cells, and nerves.

I laughed at the end of the school day, telling Miss Lscey, “I wonder when this shot is going to kick in. I don’t feel any differently.” She replied, “Probably around midnight when you are in bed.” ๐Ÿ™‚

The joke was on me! At 1:40 a.m.  I was still wide awake!  And I was up the next morning at 5:20 well before my alarm clock sounded.

I googled how long one B-12 injection lasted. I found one month to be the general concensus.  Let’s hope my new found energy level  finds a better balance for my sleep habits before then. I can’t afford to give up many more hours of slumber.

Who wouldn’t want an extra boost of energy? Something to brighten their overall well being? Something to sharpen their mental clarity? ๐Ÿ™‚

We have to look no further than our own God. No appointment necessary. No insurance form to sign. No quick stick in the arm to receive it. He’s right there beside you every day to offer you the power you need each and every day through His Holy Spirit who lives within us all. All for the asking.  Put a little Jesus in your heart, and you’ll have more thsn enough pep in your step to make it through even the most trying of days. He’s the ultimate source of energy.

For now I intend to get my $15 worth of my B-12 shot. A quick fix before the holidays.  But for life, I turn to my God to energize me with His almighty power. Now that’s the best shot in the arm available!  ๐Ÿ™‚

13 That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.                                           Philippians 2:13

Love and laughter,

Sandy
