Today is Tuesday, November 8th, Election Day 2016. The day we hope to see all registered voters in America at the polls to cast their ballots for our next presidential candidate. I plan to be one of the first in line to vote at my polling place when the polls open their doors at 7:00 a.m. Shortly after the polls close at 7:00 p.m., we will have elected a new president.
As each of us sign in at our polling place to begin the voting process, we are given a sticker that reads, “I voted.” This year I believe they would be better suited to read:
This year’s contenders are leaving many Americans feeling a little uncertain of our nation’s future. Democrats and Republicans alike. But as Christians we. should not be fearful for no matter the outcome, God is in control. Our authoritative figure sits not in the Oval Office, but reigns from heaven above.
Let’s all join together and pray that the best candidate will be selected. Let’s pray for the welfare of our great nation. According to Romans 8:28, “we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Time and time again God doesn’t call the equipped, but rather equips the called. Let’s pray He equips those called to serve in authority over our country.
For Election Day 2016, I want to say I prayed and I voted. How about you?
Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Romans 13:1
