Life

Good morning!

Life. We all have one shot at it. Each of us is given the same identical 24 hours each day. How we choose to live it is entirely up to us. The choice is ours. We can live it waiting to die. Wasting our days away simply existing. Or we can live it dying to live. Spending each day with a purpose. A passion..Living each day to its fullest.

My dad’s best friend’s life came to a close yesterday.  ðŸ˜¦  We are all greatly saddened. Saddened for our loss. Not his. For he was a man that lived life to its fullest.  He did it all. He never let anything get in his way or get him down.  He loved life. He loved family and friends. He left behind a wonderful legacy to those that knew him of how to live. A gifted father, businessman, and friend. His door was always open with hospitality to match.

I’ve been blessed to share in his company over many years as a family friend. More so of recent with my father and him spending more time together as retirement allowed.

A fond memory I shall carry with me of Steve is his tower. His home backs up to Tulsa’s upcoming park, A Gathering Place For Tulsa. With all the inconveniences of construction, destruction, noise, barriers, detours, street closings, etc., Steve found a way around it all. He erected a tower in his very own backyard to observe the progress that the rest of Tulsa was not privy to witness. That was blocked from public viewing. But not for Steve. Where there was a will there was a way! 🙂

It was not just any tower. It was built of the finest construction. Reinforced steel. I’m sure it can withstand Oklahoma’s worst of weather. And to top it all off is a table and chair set. Seating for four complete with an umbrella. A deck fit for a king.

I pray that Steve now sits with others before him with God. Able to see all from his new vantage point. “The” Gathering Place, not just “A” Gathering Place. A place where there is no longer pain and suffering, sickness, or tears.

Here’s to you Steve! ♡ Thank you for showing us all how to win at this game we all play.  The game of Life. Thank you for touching my life as you so have. For offering such love and companionship to my father. You will definitely be missed.  But never forgotten. ♡ This toast is to you!

â€œâ€¦ I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”                                         Deuteronomy 30:19 20

Love and laughter,

Sandy
