Thy Will Be Done

Good morning!

Today’s blog is going to be short and sweet because your blogger (unfortunately) has a one-track mind this morning.

Today’s the day!                                                I was up at sunrise to start my day. I need to arrive for pre-op by 9:15, and surgery is scheduled for 10:45.
I had the radio on for the drive to Oklahoma City this morning   The song Thy Will by Hillary Scott came on. What a beautiful song! As I listened to the lyrics, I realized it was just what I needed to hear! I needed to be reminded that this life of mine is not all about me!  It’s not about my selfish desires. It’s about God’s will for my life.

My favorite line is “Remember that you’re God and I am not.”

No matter what He hands me or any of us, it truly is His will.  It’s His plan, and He knows the outcome of it even if we don’t. That in itself offers such peace of mind.

I’m going to be a little selfish here. I’m going to ask for your prayers. That you will help me take my focus off of myself, and instead give God praise for all the wonderful things He has given us in this world that we can see. The beautiful sunrise and sunset of each day. For the gift of sight. For the gift of love. For the blessings of friends and family for support. For the skill of surgeons.

I encourage each of you to take just a moment and slow down, and remember no matter what you are facing, God’s got it. He’s in control. Thy will be done.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.                   Matthew 6:10

Love and laughter,

Sandy
