Shot Challenge

Good morning!

Seeing as I had things to do and people to see on Saturday,  I started my day off with a treat for myself. A Starbucks’ Salted Caramel Mocha. A burst of caffeine to energize my sleep deprived body and soul. And a burst of chocolate caramel goodness just because. Just because I love chocolate and caramel, and because I decided to give myself a reward for the pending chores which loomed ahead. Cleaning and decluttering.

I pulled up to the drive in window to pay with my Starbucks app. I had already ordered online. As I waited for my drink to be delivered, the barista asked me if I would like to take a shot with him.

Who would turn down a shot challenge by a young man less than half their age? With a ponytail that any woman my age would have hair envy over. I wanted to ask him what kind of hair products he used, but I refrained.  I may be old, but I’m not dead! πŸ™‚  That’s like refusing a double dog dare from somebody. I could drink that youngster under the table with coffee if given the chance. I’d studied for many a late night college final. I’d been up all night many a time with three daughters. I worked nights for years! Bring it on!  πŸ™‚

He handed me a small paper cup and informed me it was cold brew. As I removed the lid, he proceeded to warn me that it was pretty strong. I laughed. He had one too.  We clinked our paper cups together, said cheers, and poured them down the hatch.  Such an unexpected surprise! And it was just what I needed. A littke fun and alot of caffeine. πŸ™‚ I’d been up all night the night before working my weekly night shift and needed the extra boost. Thus my visit to Starbucks in the first place.

That’s just how God’s blessings work. When you least expect them. I love God incidences. Those times when you just know God instrumented them for your benefit.  To remind you of His presence.

Don’t ever forget to look for them! They’re there. You just have to slow down and look through the eyes of God. See the good in everything. πŸ™‚ And when you do, share it with others! That’s part of your testimony! Your story!

And never stop having fun in life! πŸ™‚ It’s the best! Do the unexpected. Never be to old to accept challenges. Play with our youth. Engage in this beautiful world we live in every chance you get. I double dog dare you! πŸ™‚

9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.                                          Deuturonomy 4:9

Love and laughter,

Sandy
