Simple Abundance

Good morning!

I recently had this book recommended to me by not one, but two different ladies. Simple Abundance. I had to get it. It arrived in my mailbox on July 18th.  I took it to work with me that very evening. I love books. I couldn’t wait to begin reading it.

I sat at my workstation in the wee hours of the morning when the rest of the world was at rest and opened my new treasure.  Without any care as to where it opened, as I opened the book, it fell open to reveal July 19th. To my surprise I found it was not a chapter book at all as I had expected,  but rather a daily devotional. And it miraculously opened to July 19th. Just one look at the computer time and date in the bottom right corner will reveal to you,  the book opened to the current date!

How cool was that? πŸ™‚  It was no coincidence. It was a God incidence! What an excellent example of just that. Simple Abundance. I absolutely love those moments in life where the most simple thing can bring you to your knees at God’s abundance! β™‘ A song on the radio at just the opportune moment. A call from a long lost friend right when you are thinking of them. Finding a $20 bill in your pocket at the end of your paycheck.  The list goes on.

According to the author of this book, “Whatever we are waiting for, peace of mind, contentment, grace, the inner awareness of simple abundance,  it will surely come to us, but only when we are ready to receive it with an open and grateful heart.”

Bring it on dear Lord! I’m ready!

Simple abundance is a matter of finding a balance between the energy that comes from knowing you have enough and the act of simple focus.

In a time when we are bombarded with the abundance of material possessions, let’s all sit back and enjoy the simple things in life. Those things that money can’t buy, but remain priceless.  Health. Happiness. The beauty of nature. Peace of mind. God’s grace. Together let’s each find our simple abundance.

They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, And in the days of famine they will have abundance.                                     Psalm 37:19

Thank you Stephanie and Ginny for recommending this book to me! β™‘

Love and laughter,

Sandy
