Good morning!

For most, yesterday was a day of celebration, freedom, and red, white, and blue. But for most Oklahomans it was just blue. 😦

Effective yesterday,  Oklahoma City Thunder’s small forward, Kevin Durant, announced he is moving on to the next chapter of his life. The free agent is  trading in his number 35 jersey with Oklahoma City Thunder for a Golden State Warriors jersey.

The 27 year old, 6 foot 9 inches tall, NBA star has been winning the hearts of Oklahomans since 2008. His reputation for his kind demeanor both on and off the court makes him so much more than just the gifted athlete he is. His love for Jesus Christ and his mama is evident to all. What he’s done for the Oklahoma City community cannot be forgotten.

He will be missed. But as we all know, life goes on. It’s the journey not the destination that’s important.

Let’s all follow KD’s example, a way he chooses to play the game, leading by example. Let’s accept that he is following his favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11, the plans that God has laid out for him. Let’s not judge, but rather wish him God’s blessing as he shares his talent and testimony with other parts of the country. Still a part of the U.S.A. A bigger team we all represent together. One that we just celebrated  together yesterday.  After all, freedom is what we celebrated.  Let’s all offer KD the freedom to choose his next chapter as best it fits his plan, not ours.

Thank you KD for your gifts and services you brought to our state! ♡ God speed!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare[a] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.                                                   Jeremiah 29:11

Love and laughter,
