Everything Is Bigger In Texas

Good morning!

Living the majority of my life in Oklahoma, I have always been faced with our adjacent state, Texas, being considered bigger and better.

Face it. They are bigger. And usually better. Why shouldn’t they be? They have more to pick from. They beat us at most every sport. It’s a Texas size party in Oklahoma any time we defeat any team from Texas.

Try this on for size. 🙂
The area of Texas is about 268,820 square miles. Not to be confused with the 69,960 square miles of Oklahoma’s area.

The most recent world population figure as of March 2016 , estimates our world’s population at 7.4 billion, the record high to date.

Now you do tge math. Divide the area of Texas by the current world population of over 7 billion humans, and it leaves each person with around a 1,000 square feet of living space.

Imagine this. If the entire world’s population lived at the same density level as New York City, we could all fit within the borders of the Lone Star State.

Ta-Da! Our over-population problem is solved! 🙂

The problem is our problem does not lie in the number of people, but rather our ability to distribute our resources.
The problem is a minority of selfish, sinful, and power-hungry people have misused God’s creation so the majority lack the proper resources necessary for life as God intended.

God Himself honored those that helped themselves, thise who were not lazy, who invested their efforts wisely. Nothing says He expects everyone to have an equal share.

But let’s all honor all people enough to provide for their needs. God’s word tells us to multiply. It just didn’t tell us to divide. Divide unfairly. Among corrupt governments.  Big corporations. And the select population of greedy, wealthy tycoons who are more concerned with their earthly treasures that cannot be taken from this world with them than feeding and benefiting their own.

Let’s all think globally not just selfishly. We are all a part of this world we call our temporary home. And as long as we don’t have to move south just yet to combat world over-population,  we Sooner and Cowboy fans will still be cheering for our underdogs north of your border to defeat you, Texas! 🙂

22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
Genesis 1:22

Love and laughter,

Sandy
