Happy Dad’s Day!

Good morning!

Today is Sunday, June 19th. It’s the day we honor our fathers. It’s Father’s Day.

I’m my daddy’s only little girl. ♡
I’ve never called him my father. He’s always been my dad. “Daddy” for years. You see, any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad.

My dad was always the good cop in the parenting roles. He had his own business as long as I can remember and worked many late hours. I may not have seen alot of him, but I certainly reaped the benefits of his labor. Horses. Pools. Family vacations. Ski trips. Jewelry. New cars. College sorority. The list goes on. But when he was around, it was usually always fun and excitement! And for the most part, it still is. The circle of life has brought the two of us once again back together living as roommates. And now we’re making up for lost time. Now I see alot of him.

I can’t say I’ve always loved this arrangement.  That it’s where I thought I’d be at this stage of my life.  But God has taught me so much being right where I’m at. Primarily to love unconditionally.  To honor my parent, specifically my father. My dad. ♡

And that’s what today is all about. I encourage each of you to take the time today to honor your father. It’s God’s instruction. Whether it affords a personal visit or simply a call on the phone (Call! Do not text!), tell your dad you love him. He needs to hear it. He did something right. You’re here aren’t you? 🙂 It’s so much easier to do with moms, but dads need love just as much!

And if you’re a dad reading this, Happy Dad’s Day! Do something special.  Preferably with those you are a dad to. If that’s not an option, do something special you enjoy.  Hit a golf ball. Cast a line.Take a nap on the couch. Watch a sporting event. Drive your car really fast. Leave the toilet seat up. Whatever floats your boat. Enjoy! 🙂

Here’s to you!  All you dads! We all have one!

And here’s to you, our Heavenly Father! Creator and father of all of us. The perfect example of the perfect father. Thank you for not just being our father, but our dad.Someone very special!  Yesterday.  Today. And forever more. We love you! ♡

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
Exodus 20:12

Love and laughter,

Sandy
