Tonight I am going to an all school reunion for my Alma Mater, Charles C. Mason High School.
This year depicts the 40th year since graduation for the high school class just above me. The closed reunion festivities for the class of 1976 will take place Saturday night. Tonight is open to all who attended Mason during the five years before its closing due to declining enrollment. It was the last of Tulsa’s public high schools to be established. It is presently owned by Metro Christian Academy.
It may no longer be the home of the Tulsa Mason Patriots, but their symbol still remains. And carries on. The school seal is still there on the floor.
A person who vigorously supports their country and is prepared to defend it against enemies or detractors.
Another symbol. Seal. Still remains after all these years. One with much greater significance. That still carries on. And always will. Once Golgotha. Now the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The place of Jesus crucifixion, tomb where He was buried, and site of His resurrection.
Many of us return some 40 years later to see our friends and remember another time. Just imagine, going back to Jerusalem. This church has been an important pilgrimage since the 4th century. Mason High is now Metro. Today the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is now the headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem.
Mason Patriots. Still marching forward after all these years.
Jesus Christ. Still marching forward forevermore.
Have a great weekend my friends! I look forward to seeing each and every one of you. Enjoy reminiscing over past memories and enjoy even more making new ones!
And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.
Love and laughter,
