When my daughters were teens they introduced me to a game called Would You Rather…? A never-ending series of absurdly grotesque questions. It was total nonsense, but I played along because the conversations that followed justifying their choices taught me alot about them. How they thought and how they felt. They were great conversation starters.
For any of you brave enough to play along, here’s one of them.
Would you rather burp confetti or fart glitter?
As absurd as they may be that’s how many of us face life. We are given a choice, and we choose the absolutely absurd choice.
Would you rather die or have eternal life?
God offers each of us a choice. Let’s all choose life. Let’s choose Jesus. Who wouldn’t rather have eternal life than no life at all?
We all have our “druthers”. Things we’d rather do. One’s own way, choice, or preference. Let’s all make our rathers things that are pleasing to God. A good name. Loving favor. Belief in Jesus.
I don’t know about you, but I would rather turn my would you rathers around to good choices rather than absurd ones!
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
Love and laughter,
