Every day in Miss Marilyn’s room we sing the goodbye song at the end of each class. Then our students stand in front of the class one at a time and say goodbye to their friends.
It’s a transition.
May 23rd is their last day of school.
We will soon be transitioning out of the 2015-2016 school year. With that I know will come mixed emotions. Joy to see the growth in many of our students. Sadness to see some of them move to other schools, knowing we may never see them again. Reluctance to bid them all goodbye. For they’ve become OUR kids these last nine months.
Saying goodbye is never easy. Especially if you know it is for good. The end of a chapter. Moving on.
Our hearts feel empty.
When Jesus said goodbye, He also said He would be returning. That brought hope.
Whenever the circle of life brings goodbyes your way, hold onto that hope that Jesus offers. Hope that you will meet again. In heaven. For eternity. Hope for healing the emptiness in your heart that they once filled. Hope that only Jesus can give.
Let’s all trust in Jesus to make our goodbyes truly GOOD. Let’s turn them into see you laters. Until we meet agains. Belief in Him offers us such options.
And He will return.
I know because He said so.
And He will take away the tears. The pain. The sorrow that some of those goodbyes left within us. Trust in Him.
That’s a transition I surely long for! ♡
You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you ‘ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Love and laughter,
