I say that every day Monday through Friday to every student that comes in my south door in the morning as they arrive for school.
I love greeting our friends! ♡
Offering a warm smile, a cheerful hello, and sometimes a big hug to start their day.
There is always something that I hear or see that makes me laugh or brings a tear to my eye. The stories I hear each morning from our preschoolers are priceless! Truly out of the mouths of babes! I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
In fact, I love it so much I think I’ve found the perfect job for me when I retire. I can be the Wal-Mart greeter! 🙂 My door duty has taught me well!
I just love this slogan!
It’s what the Wal-Mart greeters wear.
How may I help you?
Not, how will you help ME?
Isn’t that how Jesus wants it? To serve others. He came to serve. And we should too.
I’m very okay with serving. 🙂 In fact, I think it’s safe to say that I have a servant’s heart. I’d rather give any day over receive. I’m not a good taker. I always order the cheapest item on the menu when someone else is buying. I choose last when picking among others. I usually say “nothing” when asked what I want for my birthday and Christmas. I live with and take care of my 86 year old father.
My greatest wish is to someday be greeted at the pearly gates by heaven’s greeter saying to me, “good morning friend, how may I help you?” And I hope to say in return, “I’m here! Show me where I can serve”.
Let’s all have a joyful spirit. Let’s all cheerfully greet others when we see them. You never know what others are experiencing. You just may be the only Jesus they ever see. Let’s all have a servant’s heart. Always striving to help others. For in giving, we truly do receive.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Love and laughter,
