Double Standards

Good morning!

What is it about our society that considers an unmarried man suave and debonair, and an unmarried woman an old, disparaging spinster?

              Now meet the Old Maid.

It is the old double standard.
A rule or principle that is unfairly applied in different ways to different people or groups. Especially a code of morals that applies more severe standards of sexual behavior to women than to men.

It’s 2016. We have a woman running for President. So why still the double standards?

I’m old school. I don’t want to be a man’s equal. I believe God created man and woman differently on purpose. I love chivalry. I’m all about the knight in shining armor. I love having doors opened for me. Chairs pulled out for me. I love the man who has chosen to do the right things, for the right reasons, at the right times. The man that would love me as I submitted to and respected him. Just as God planned it.

We are told in God’s word that there is no male and female. God does not use double standards. He sees us all as one in Christ. The Bachelor and The Old Maid.

Whether you are married or are single, whether you are suave and debonair or an old desparaging spinster, may you realize your worth in God’s eyes. We are all loved. We are all equal.

Let’s all play fair. Stop the double standards. Treat all people fairly. Regardless of gender, race, or income. And by the way, James Bond will always be the greatest suave, debonair bachelor in my eyes. ♡

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ
Ga Jesus. latians 3:28

Love and laughter,

Sandy
