Good morning!

Money is getting tighter for many these days. We are seeing rises in costs and cuts in budgets.

I recently received two separate emails from different causes regarding fundraising. They both used the identical marketing plan.
A $20 dollar bill.

A little fun fact for you.
The $20 bill.
We’ve all known and loved the seventh president of the United Ststes, Andrew Jackson’s mug on the front of it. But as of April 20th, the decision has been made to oust him from the front and demote him to the back of it. Instead the conductor of the Underground Railroad, Harriet Tubman, will be seen as the face of the $20 bill. Tubman is known as the icon who helped slaves escape the South during the Civil War.

Back to the emails. 🙂
$20 is all that was needed to donate to both of these causes. Not a bad idea! No matter what our financial status,  all of us can probably manage to part with a crisp $20!

First there was Go Big for Philbrook, Philbrook’s Films on the Lawn. One of my favorites.  I’ve been supporting that cause by visiting Philbrook’s lawns on Friday nights in July to picnic and watch old movies for decades. Their first Kickstarter project. If 500 patrons gave $20 each, they could fund the project. New bigger better screen, sound system, abd lights. (And by the way, they did it!) 🙂

Next was an email from Jenks. Trojan 20. If each family donates $20 for each student they have in Jenks schools, it can offset the education budget cuts and help pay for supplies. Although my kids are grown and no longer in schools, this does affect me as staff in the classroom. I thank each of you donating. ♡

It truly is better to give than receive. Try it and see!  Let’s all be cheerful givers. Let’s continue helping others even when times are tough. Even one $20 bill can make a difference.  God sees your heart. Not your pocketbook.

I hope to see you all in July on the Philbrook lawns. I can’t wait! Mary Poppins isJuly 15th. One of my all time favorites!  ♡ See you there!

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.’
Luke 6:38

Love and laughter,
