Fresh Flowers

Good morning!

Who doesn’t love a bouquet of fresh flowers?  ♡

I know I do! ♡
I received this beautiful bouquet yesterday afternoon from one of the ladies who volunteers in our classroom.

The key word here is VOLUNTEER. She is not paid to come into our classroom two afternoons per week to help us out. And believe me, she does much more than offer an extra pair of hands. She’s been doing it for years! She loves those kids! She wipes their noses, comforts their tears, reads them stories, helps with art and play and snacks, helps keep foreign objects out of the mouths of babes, a favorite past time of many of our students, and pretty much does it all. 🙂

And we love her! ♡
And so do our kids! ♡

Her generosity and thoughtfulness yesterday was a random act of kindness just to encourage the four of us that work there every day. Some days are better than others. Today was a particularly delightful day. “Miss Meryl” brightened it with her unexpected gift of fresh flowers!  A bouquet for each of us! Each was a uniquely different breathtaking bouquet that smelled as delightful as it looked.

Let’s all follow in Miss Meryl’s footsteps.  Let’s volunteer of ourselves more and expect less of others. Let’s offer random gifts of kindness to others to brighten their days. Our lives here on earth are for the most part very short. Let’s make them count. Let’s be like a flower and come forth as exquisitely as we can before we, too, wither.

Thank you Miss Meryl for all you do!!!
We love working with you almost as much as we love you! ♡

Man, who is born of woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil. “Like a flower he comes forth and withers He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.
Job 14:1-2

Love and laughter,
