Words To Live By

Good morning!

Every day I am moved to write my blog in a different way. I don’t doubt for a second that it’s not God inspired. I’ve never once experienced writer’s block.

Sometimes it’s a mere word that triggers a train of thought. Other times it’s a sight that catches my eye and becomes a photograph. Sometimes it’s a lesson I just learned or need to learn that the Holy Spirit is weighing heavily on my heart. And sometimes it’s a particular bible verse that comes to mind. It usually revolves around some current event going on in my life, but sometimes it’s just random ideas. I never know which element will come first. I just let God lead me. And my students and family and friends. And the world around me. All it takes is opening my eyes. And my ears. And my heart. They all have been instrumental in providing blog subject matter at one time or another. I’m just the messenger. 🙂

Although I try to use a different bible verse every day in my writings, I have a handful of favorite bible verses I tend to try to live by. My life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6. It’s my go to verse. What are some of yours?

I asked a few of the ladies I work with what their favorites were, and this is what I got:

Miss Marilyn
3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.
Psalm 147:3-4

Miss Tara
11Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:11-13

Miss Lacey
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present2 help in trouble.
2  Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
3  though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
Psalm 46:1-3

And here’s mine:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6  In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

They’re all some pretty solid words to live by. 🙂

Besides my daily online YouVersion bible reading, I’ve been blessed to search God’s word each and every day to complete my blog.  I, therefore, am constantly learning more about who God is as well as being reminded of God’s direction for my own life. What’s right and what’s wrong.

I urge you to do the same. Read God’s word. Daily. Habitually. I promise you, they’re some great words to live by!

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Love and laughter,
