Birds Of A Feather

Good morning!

It’s that time of year.
Spring. A time of new birth.
All around us nature is reproducing.
The cycle of life goes on.

I recently glanced out the window to find this, a male duck swimming on the pool.

It was a strange sight to see. This private backyard pool normally is not a haven for ducks.
But this particular morning it was. Perhaps he was just needing a drink or more likely scoping out the terrain for his new family. The even stranger part about it was there was no female duck swimming beside him. Regardless, he didn’t stay for long.

Ducks come in pairs. Especially at this time of year.  Mating and nesting season. You see, male and female mallard ducks bond as a pair. They mate for life.

Birds of a feather flock together.

Usually.
But not this particular day.
Wherever Daisy was, I hoped she was ok.

Let’s all be like our friends the ducks. Let’s flock together. For life.  We’re of the same feather you know. Regardless of the color of our feathers. We’re all human. We are better together than apart. Whether in pairs or flocks, let’s all spend our lives watching over each other and serving our fellow man.

2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;
1 Peter 5:2

Love and laughter,

Sandy

In loving memory of my dear departed mother who always embraced her pair of ducks coming each year to begin their family by taking up temporary residence on our backyard pool. ♡
