There is a clever cable TV advertising campaign currently running that references being settlers. It’s one of my favorites.
As much as I hate to admit it, I realize I’m a settler. I don’t want to be, but it’s my comfort zone. I’m going to try very diligently to change that!
How about you?
Do you forge ahead and venture down new paths unknown or are you a settler?
Why settle when you can have the very best?
We settle because we are fearful of failure. Because it’s the easier path of least resistance. It’s far easier to compromise. It’s present in the here and now.
Do you settle for less than the best in what God has planned for you?
The truth is most of us are content settling for less than God’s best. The world rather than The Word plays a far greater influence on our lives. Fascinating what a difference that one little letter “L” can make.
It takes effort. It takes discipline. You have to actively pursue God’s best. Through The Word and prayer. It doesn’t appear automatically. Nor will you achieve it by accident.
Matthew 7:7 tells us “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
If you try for nothing, you’ll reach it every time.
I urge each of us to stop settling. In all areas of our lives. Be the best you can be. Seek God’s best. And give Him yours.
Don’t be settlers.
No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly.
