Oh how we’ve heard those words over the years. At this time of year. From children. To Santa. There have been beaucoups of songs sung using those words. From All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth to All I Want For Christmas Is You.
I send out photo Christmas cards each year. Last year I was holding my 100 pound Golden Retriever with the sentiment, Big warm hugs from me to you!. For this year’s Christmas card pic I’m planning on reverting back to a little more true Christmas spirit. So here it is, my Christmas list. I plan to incorporate it into my photo this year. My letter to Santa. My grown up Christmas list.
In case you didn’t notice, I did a little revising of my grown up Christmas list, or better known as, letter to Santa. I still believe. Just not so much in jolly men bearing gifts. Although it might be nice to have one of my own. Hint, hint. 🙂 I addressed my letter this year to the real man with the power to grant me everything on my list.
This year let’s all try to cease with the Christmas lists. Let’s take the words “I want” out of our vocabulary just this one holiday season and Instead replace them with the words “I give”. Let’s stop looking out for our own interests and instead look to the needs of others. We’ve all heard it’s better to give than to receive. Let’s try it. In the spirit of the popular Christmas movie, “A Christmas Story”, I TRIPLE-dog-dare you!
do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Love and laughter,
