Lights On!

Good morning!

Jenks Christmas lights went on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. Philbrook’s Garden Glow this past Saturday. Rhema Bible Church, Utica Square, the University of Tulsa,  downtown Tulsa’s Winterfest, Lights on the Hill at Chandler Park, Riverlights, all officially turned on Thanksgiving evening. Then there’s those private homes whose lights are choreographed to their own favorlte Christmas music. Just tune your radio to the specified channel and enjoy! And don’t forget the helicopter Christmas light tours. They give you a totally different perspective of viewing holiday lights if you want that extra special holiday treat.

This year it was raining. 😦 That kind of put a damper on the holiday Lights On festivities across our fair city. The temperature read 38 degrees.  If the temperature would drop just a few more degrees down to 32 it would be glorious. The rain would become snow and walking among the lights would become a winter wonderland.

Here’s hoping for that snow. It makes the Christmas season feel alot more like Christmas. Until then it’s perfect weather to cuddle under a blanket with those you love and watch holiday movies with a mug of hot chocolate and a big bowl of buttery popcorn. With the lights off. Just like in the movie theatre.
Until it’s time for Lights On.

Then as soon as it’s dark, go tour Tulsa or your own hometown wherever that may be. Savor the Christmas magic of holiday lights. Lights on.

And while you’re at it, make sure your own light is shining brightly for others to see. Don’t hide it under the stress and turmoil of today’s worldly problems. We can’t solve them. Only God can. Let your deeds glorify Him.

Let’s all be the light of the world, especially this holiday season!

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16

Love and laughter,

Sandy
